When it comes to tennis controversy, the usual go-to source is Nick Kyrgios — you know, the guy who drops girlfriend burns mid-match and is making headlines this week for an anti-Trump shirt. But we’re going to leave Kyrgios alone today, because our girl Caroline Wozniacki has come out of left field to drop the hammer on Yulia Putintseva.
Wozniacki recently defeated Putintseva in straight sets (6-0, 7-5) at the Sydney International, but she didn’t let up off-court. While speaking to media in her postmatch presser, Wozniacki basically labeled her as an untalented pest:

Not as good as most of the top 100? That’s some savage stuff coming out of the tennis realm.
The NY Times’ Ben Rothenberg notes Putintseva beat Wozniacki in the first round of last year’s Australian Open — looks like the resurgent Woz hasn’t forgotten about that.
