I’ve been asked a couple times over the last few days about the legislation being presented in Washington to allow fans to carry firearms into football games. What would happen? Here’s what would happen: you’d have a bunch of stand your ground cases in court where NFL fan shot NFL fan. That’s what would happen.
Look, all it takes is one guy to say he felt threatened by another fan and you have shots fired. You mix in booze (even if concealed carry guy isn’t allowed to drink) from one side of the aisle and words get exchanged. Stand Your Ground Guy (Washington law doesn’t mandate a retreat) will feel threatened and pull the trigger. Living guy’s word against a dead guy’s word.
Look, I’ve said it time and time again, if you’re not comfortable amongst savages, don’t go to NFL games. Don’t even think of wearing opposing gear if you’re weak in the mind. And for god’s sake, don’t take your daughter unless you’re in a corporate box or you’re at a Colts game where it’s so Middle America that the people don’t use profanity.
I’m all for Patriots fans punching a few times and then security stepping in. Sure beats some drunk guys laying in a pool of blood over nonsense.
