Patriots vs. Colts: Game Recap, Stats & Highlights

The New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts have a long history against each other. The two teams met in the AFC Championship Game last season which turned into the infamous “Deflategate” game. New England looked to prove some things Sunday in Indianapolis as they attempted to go to 5-0 for the season. Tom Brady threw for 311 yards and three touchdowns as the Patriots remained perfect with a 34-27 win at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Indianapolis, who drops to 3-3 with the loss, took a 21-17 lead with 2:45 left in the first half when Andrew Luck threw a three-yard touchdown pass to T.Y. Hilton. After a Stephen Gostkowski field goal ended the half, Brady took over in the second half with touchdown passes to Rob Gronkowski and LeGarrette Blount to put the game out of reach by early in the fourth quarter.
Luck would find Griff Whalen with 1:19 left to pull the Colts within seven but it wouldn’t be enough. Danny Amendola had seven catches for 105 yards to lead the receivers for New England while Blount rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on the ground to go with his receiving score. Luck went 30-for-50 for 312 yards and three touchdowns in the loss.
The Patriots will take their perfect record for the season back home for a matchup next Sunday against the Jets while the Colts will remain home and will face off with the Saints in a battle of dome teams.
