The rape case against former Baltimore Ravens cheerleader Molly Shattuck is finally over and the court has determined that Molly will spend 48 weekends in jail. Now this has to be complete torture for a woman who has lived the life of a socialite who was married to some rich dude and went to great parties.

NBC News reports:

In a Delaware courtroom, Shattuck tearfully expressed remorse and apologized to the 15-year-old victim and his family. Shattuck’s defense lawyers blamed her ex-husband leaving her for a younger woman as the reason she turned to the teen for her crime.

Shattuck will serve her sentence over two years. She cried throughout the sentencing hearing with her family in the courtroom. Before the hearing, Shattuck could be seen praying.

Interesting defense. This is the first I’m hearing of the ex leaving her for a younger dime. Yeah, so that means you should counter with a kid who can’t drive. Weird.

You might remember that Shattuck used a vacation house as one of the rendezvous locations. That’s where, cops say, she performed oral on the 15 year old.

As for the sentence, I’d like to hear more on how this all works. Do you go in after dinner on Friday night and get out on Monday morning before work? Do you go in Saturday morning and get out Sunday night? Let’s say it’s the Saturday-Sunday deal. I’d get so wasted every Friday night. No better way to spend your weekend in jail than working off a hangover. You’d just sleep the entire weekend, balance the checkbook, maybe catch up on trash magazines and then you’re out for a late Sunday Funday.
