She once dated Christian Ponder and was scheduled to get married to Aaron Murray this year. Now soccer sideline reporter Kacie McDonnell appears to be dating Kansas City Royals heartthrob Eric Hosmer, who is making $5,650,000 this season and $8,250,000 in 2016.
In what appears to be a coordinated overnight Instagram attack, both McDonnell and Hosmer, 25, posted similar coming out photos featuring the two looking like they’re dating and about to get real serious on the KC social circuit.
This McDonnell rise, from backup quarterbacks to a Gold Glover who’ll be around baseball for the next 13-15 years, is unheard of in the history of sports girlfriends. We cannot find a similar case in our WAG database. It appeared Kacie was finished with Kansas City after Murray pulled the plug on their romantic wedding plans. She eventually left her local television job (locals —@MarkoftheBuzz— say she’s still with 41 Action News) to become a sideline reporter for MLS team Sporting KC, which kept her around town and in social circles that dropped her into the lap of Hosmer, who’s considered a huge catch in the jersey chasing world.
This guy is going to get a massive guaranteed contract while Aaron Murray will likely be out of the NFL in a couple of years and making money signing autographs at Georgia Walmarts.
The winner this morning is McDonnell. She has some sort of magical powers that have struck again. Good for her.
