Dabo Swinney and the Clemson football team are sitting at 4-2 on the season, and sitting in 7th place in the ACC. The Tigers are behind Florida State, UNC, Duke, Louisville, Georgia Tech, and Virginia Tech.
That has to some criticism from the fan base, and Dabo seems to be fed up.
During his weekly call-in show, Swinney sounded off on the “bandwagon” fans and unrealistic expectations from some of the Tigers fans.
“We’re at a point in our time, and I hate that, where if you don’t go undefeated, you’re losers. You’re terrible,” Swinney said, via On3’s Matt Connolly. “And it’s just such a terrible mindset. And honestly, maybe we need to lose a few games and lighten up the bandwagon. Sometimes the bandwagon can get a little too full.”

“It’s not easy to win. It’s really, really hard to win, and sometimes you can win so much you lose appreciation for it,” Swinney added. “And so, I appreciate some of the longtime Clemson people that have good perspective. Because these kids, they’re in a situation where there’s a lot of noise all the time. And I hate that, but that’s the world we live in and it comes with the territory.”
Clemson’s losses this season have been to Duke and Florida State — who are the No. 16 and No. 4 teams in the country, respectively, and both undefeated in conference play.
The Blue Devils and Seminoles, however, face off this weekend.
As for Clemson, the Tigers return to action on Saturday night against the struggling Miami Hurricanes. Kickoff at Hard Rock Stadium is set for 8:00 p.m. ET.
