Russell Wilson is denying a report that was released on Friday morning detailing his final days in Seattle.
According to a report from The Athletic, Wilson approached the Seahawks brass and asked for head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider to be fired.
“Wilson was convinced that Carroll and Schneider were inhibiting his quest to win additional Super Bowls and individual awards,” the report states.
On top of that, Wilson allegedly wanted Sean Payton to replace Carroll as the Seahawks’ head coach. But the quarterback has denied that he made the push to clean house.
“I love Pete and he was a father figure to me and John believed in me and drafted me as well. I never wanted them fired. All any of us wanted was to win,” he wrote on Twitter. “l’ll always have respect for them and love for Seattle.”

Ultimately, the Seahawks decided to part ways with Wilson and traded the nine-time Pro Bowler to the Denver Broncos for an arsenal of draft picks and players.
And, if he really did want to play for Sean Payton, he will now get his wish after the Broncos named the former New Orleans Saints head coach their new leading man.
