Being a softball pitcher is a dangerous game because you’re are always one moment away from taking a liner back up the middle to the face. When you’re lobbing those lollipops in there and people are swinging for the damn fences, you gotta always have that head on a swivel because any one of those could be coming right back at you.
That’s what happened to Clay Matthews yesterday at a Packers charity softball game. Took a line drive right back at the pitcher from one of his teammates. Luckily, the injuries turned out to be relatively minor. Just a broken nose.
NEW: #ClayMatthews says, "Thank you for all the concern and well-wishes" and adds he will have surgery on his nose. https://t.co/keZUQ6OhwT pic.twitter.com/CdDclt291o

He went to the ER and got everything checked out. Somehow he only walked away with a broken nose that’s going to surgery. It could’ve easily been 10x worse. That slow pitch softball pitcher life is no joke.
#Packers LB Clay Matthews is headed to the ER after being hit by a line drive in a charity softball game. The belief now is itโs just a broken nose, but heโs having a full workup to be sure. Scary situation, and if itโs just the nose, it could have been much worse.

Thank you for all the concern and well-wishes. I busted my nose pretty good and will have surgery once the swelling subsides. Thankful as it could have been much more serious ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
