The NFL is buzzing with activity right now. Coaches are being hired left and right, but there’s another big question on everyone’s mind: Who will be the Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback next season?
Reports suggest that the Steelers might re-sign Russell Wilson instead of Justin Fields. Both quarterbacks had their moments last season, showing off different skills and styles.
When Wilson came back from his injury, he immediately started playing again. This move suggests that both quarterbacks won’t stay on the team. Bob Labriola, a Steelers reporter, mentioned this too. So, who’s the favorite for the role?
More Rooney on the #Steelers QB situation: "QB position is a key, key piece of the puzzle that needs to be addressed." He said it's unlikely both Fields and Wilson would be re-signed.

It seems like the Steelers might choose Wilson, according to a story on Steelers Depot. Even though Wilson had some rough games at the end of the season, he might still be their best shot for next year.
Gerry Dulac, a Steelers insider, isn’t convinced Wilson will leave. There were whispers about him possibly joining Pete Carroll in Las Vegas.
But nothing’s set in stone yet, and Wilson hasn’t hinted at moving west. The Steelers really need stability at quarterback.
Wilson could provide that stability if he’s keen on staying. Plus, Mike Tomlin supports him a lot, according to Steelers Depot.
The team doesn’t rush into changes. It’s likely between Fields and Wilson for who starts next season. If they’re working things out with Wilson behind the curtains, it might help them win a playoff game soon.
Fans were upset with how last season ended. Tomlin faced criticism for recent playoff struggles, and Wilson caught flak for not winning late-season games.
Things have to change next year. The Steelers seem to trust Wilson and hope he can turn things around. Let’s see if they manage to avoid sinking by this time next year.
