James Cook Dominates Dolphins Defense in Week 2

The Miami Dolphins wanted to show they were the best when they played against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday Night Football. But James Cook had other ideas and quickly made his presence known.

Cook was unstoppable in the first half.

Buffalo’s star running back, James Cook, dominated Miami both on the ground and through the air, scoring three touchdowns in just two quarters. The Dolphins’ defense was left stunned as Cook found the end zone three times within 30 minutes of play during Week 2 at Hard Rock Stadium.

Buffalo started strong after Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw an interception early in the game. Cook took advantage of this mistake almost immediately, catching a 17-yard touchdown pass from Josh Allen.

Not long after that, he scored again with a one-yard run, putting Buffalo ahead 17-7 in the second quarter. The Miami defensive line struggled to hold back Buffalo’s blockers.

Then, late in the first half, Cook broke through with a spectacular 49-yard run for another touchdown. He outran several Dolphins defenders, including former Bills safety Jordan Poyer.

For context, Cook had only scored two rushing touchdowns in each of the last two seasons before this game. On Thursday, he matched that total in just one half of play.

As NFL reporter Ed Werder noted via ESPN Stats & Info, Cook made history by becoming only the third player in Buffalo Bills franchise history to score three touchdowns in a first half over the past 30 years.

It’s incredible how Cook and the Bills managed such a feat in just two quarters. They completely dismantled and demoralized Miami’s defense with plenty of time left to add more points.

Bills fans must be ecstatic watching Cook dominate. And fantasy football managers who have him on their roster are probably even more thrilled.
