Tyreek Hill, a top wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins, wants a new contract because his position’s market value has gone up. But he doesn’t want to leave Miami.
Hill made it clear he loves Miami.
In a press conference on Tuesday, Hill said he is happy in Miami and wants to stay there. He told his agent not to get him traded again, referencing a past situation with the Kansas City Chiefs that led to his move to the Dolphins in 2022.

Hill emphasized his commitment by saying, “The only thing I told Drew [was], ‘Do not get me traded, bro.’” This statement highlights his desire to stay put.
Reflecting on his trade from the Chiefs, Hill seems grateful for how things turned out with the Dolphins. He appreciates being part of the team since 2022.
During the same press conference, Hill shared how much he and his family love Miami. He praised head coach Mike McDaniel and expressed fondness for his teammates. Dolphins fans should be thrilled with Hill’s positive remarks about the organization.
Since joining the Dolphins, Hill has been a standout player. He leads the NFL in receiving yards (3,509) and ranks third in touchdowns (20). Despite having two years left on his four-year, $120 million deal, he’s seeking an upgrade as other receivers surpass his average annual value.
Other stars like CeeDee Lamb and Brandon Aiyuk might soon earn more than Hill if they sign new contracts. Yet, Hill remains confident he’ll get the big payday he deserves.
Comparatively, Jaylen Waddle’s recent extension puts him close to Hill in terms of average annual value. While Waddle is talented, some question if he’s worth almost as much as Hill.
Hill believes he deserves a raise after being considered for the 2023 AP MVP and finishing as Offensive Player of the Year runner-up. However, he’s willing to wait for a better deal if it means staying in Miami.
