Tragedy has struck the Campbellsville University campus in Kentucky after 18-year-old wrestler Josiah Kilman was found dead inside his dorm room after allegedly being strangled to death by a teammate.
Campbellsville Police responded to a call for an unresponsive male when they discovered Kilman.
Charles Escalera, 21, was arrested for Kilman’s murder by Kentucky State Police. He has been charged with second-degree murder and burglary, and his bond has been set for $2 million, according to TMZ Sports.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of Josiah Kilman, who left us far too soon,” the university said in a statement, “Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to Josiah’s family, friends, and the entire university community during this difficult time. Thank you, Josiah, for your example of Christ.”

Kilman’s family has set up a GoFundMe to raise money to help transport his body back to his home state of Montana for a proper burial and funeral.
“Our family will be eternally grateful for any assistance that you may be able to provide,” a Kilman family spokesperson said. “Thank you for helping them in their time of need.”
