A former World Wrestling Federation star has been arrested in connection to the death of his wife. Billy Jack Haynes was arrested following a two-hour standoff in Oregon.

Haynes’ wife, Janette Becraft, was found with a gunshot wound in the couple’s home, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

“Officers determined the suspect was inside the home and they requested assistance from the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) in order to safely take the suspect into custody. Officers went inside the home and located an adult female who was deceased. Homicide detectives responded to the scene and began their investigation,” the bureau said in a statement.

The 70-year-old Haynes was taken into police custody at a local hospital.

Haynes is expected to be charged with murder.

Haynes, whose real name is William Albert Haynes, Jr., began professional wrestling in 1982. While winning multiple championships on the regional circuits, Haynes eventually made his way to WWF and appeared in WrestleMania III against Hercules Hernandez.

Following his wrestling career, Haynes would give interviews sharing wild stories of his life. Among them were an involvement with cocain trafficking rings, and witnessing the beating death of two Arkansas teens after a drug deal gone bad.
