Bellator MMA and the Professional Fighters League returned this weekend for a cross-promotion effort with PFL Champions vs. Bellator Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The event placed the champions from each promotion against each other on the pay-per-view card.
In the main event, PFL heavyweight champion Renan Ferreira scored an emphatic victory for PFL to close the night when he knocked out Bellator’s Ryan Bader in the first round. Ferreira needed just 21 seconds to claim the Super Belt.
In the co-main event, Bellator middleweight champion Johnny Eblen squeaked out a narrow split-decision win over PFL’s Impa Kasanganay.
“Tonight the Professional Fighters League and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were at the center of the MMA world,” said PFL CEO Peter Murray. “PFL Champions vs. Bellator Champions was the first-ever PFL PPV Super Fight global event and delivered electrifying action from the best fighters in MMA.
