The WWE Universe was surprised on Monday Night Raw when The Rock made his unexpected return to the squared circle. WWE kicked off the New Year by giving fans a fun interaction between ‘The Great One’ and current WWE superstar Jinder Mahal.

However, after the dust settled between the two, it was what Rock said to the crowd after he came to blows with Mahal that has everyone talking.

A Great Return?

It has long been rumored that The Rock and his cousin, current WWE megastar Roman Reigns, would inevitably meet inside the ring. However, until last night, no mention of the potential matchup had ever been discussed on WWE television.

But now, the seeds have been planted for what could be the biggest match in the history of the company.

Regins was quick to respond to the head-of-the-table comments mentioned by The Rock during his appearance on Raw. With one laughing emoji, Reigns sent the WWE Universe into a frenzy.

WWE’s biggest show of the year, WrestleMania, takes place this April in Philadelphia.

For the 40th anniversary of the so-called ‘Grandest Stage of Them All,’ it just makes sense that the clash of eras will be on display.

However, long-time friends are torn between seeing one of the greatest ever to step foot in a ring and having his moment over another superstar who has waited a lifetime for his moment in the sun.

The build for Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania moment may be put on the back burner for a second straight year. A feeling that has many fans a little unwell.

Who do you think should challenge Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40?
