Former NBA star Rajon Rondo was arrested over the weekend on drug and gun charges, according to WDRB in Indiana.
The 37-year-old Rondo was arrested on three misdemeanor charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, drug paraphernalia, and marijuana possession.
Rondo is prohibited from having a firearm because of a no-contact order taken out against him in court.
The former University of Kentucky star was pulled over for a traffic violation when a trooper smelled marijuana. A search of the vehicle discovered the gun and a “personal use” amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Rondo was taken to Jackson County Jail and immediately posted bond.
The four-time NBA All-Star spent 16 seasons in the NBA and won two NBA championships (Boston Celtics, 2008, and Los Angeles Lakers, 2020). He last played for the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2021-22 season.
He was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team two times, was the NBA steals leader in 2010 and was a three-time NBA assists leader.
Rondo also had stints with the Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans, Dallas Mavericks, Atlanta Hawks, and Los Angeles Clippers.
