Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill is preparing for the team’s Wild Card showdown against the Chiefs in Kansas City this weekend, but it’s been a whirlwind of a week after his Florida mansion went up in flames last week.
On January 3, the upper floor of Hill’s home went up in flames with smoke billowing out of the roof.
The blaze was determined to be a two-alarm fire that was started by a four-year-old child playing with a lighter in the upstairs bedroom.
Hill was at practice as the Dolphins prepared for their regular-season finale against the division rival Buffalo Bills at the time of the fire, while other members of his family were inside the home.
Luckily, everyone was able to safely escape.
On this week’s episode of Hard Knocks, Hill addressed the fire during a meeting with Dolphins wide receivers coach Wes Welker and his fellow wide receivers.
“It’s done. The house done, bro,” Hill said. “Smoke damage, fire damage. The whole upstairs is burnt down. It’s alright though.”
According to TMZ Sports, the fire caused $2.3 million in damage.

But in the end, the most important thing is that no one was injured or harmed during the blaze.
Hill returns to the field on Saturday, January 13, against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. Kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. ET on Peacock.
