Michigan football fans are continuing their celebration after the Wolverines took down the Washington Huskies on Monday night to win the national championship.
It was the perfect ending to the team’s 15-0 season, but now fans are wondering what will be next.
Everyone has been speculating about the future of head coach Jim Harbaugh with chatter about a potential return to the NFL, but what about star quarterback JJ McCarthy?
McCarthy has produced a modest stat line throughout the season, throwing for less than 150 yards in his last five games.
His status as an NFL prospect is uncertain, but Wolverines fans seem willing to welcome him back with open arms.
When Michigan returned to Ann Arbor on Tuesday, the fans were there to welcome the team with cheers. For McCarthy, that meant chants of “One More Year” coming from the Wolverines faithful.

With such a tough schedule for the 2024 season, Michigan could use all of the help it can get, so another year of McCarthy and his veteran leadership could benefit the team.
After all, the Wolverines are set to have a national championship rematch against Washington, along with games against Texas, Ohio State, Oregon, and USC.
It’s going to be an interesting season.
