Alaska Airlines was trending for all of the wrong reasons early Saturday morning as news spread that a plane was forced to make an emergency landing after a freak accident shortly after taking off from Portland.
Approximately 20 minutes into the flight, a section of the airplane blew out which left a gaping hole in the side of the aircraft.
The plane, which was (obviously) forced to make an emergency landing, was headed to Ontario, California.
TikTok user strawberry.vy captured footage of the terrifying landing as passengers tried to remain calm while wearing their oxygen masks.

Luckily, no one was injured.
According to KTPV, there was a small child in the middle seat that had to be held down by their mother, while passengers’ belongings were sucked out of the aircraft. While the child was safely held down, the sudden decompression of the cabinet ripped the child’s shirt off.
The plane was carrying 174 passengers and 6 crew members.
Something tells me they will be hesitant to fly anytime soon. And everyone will be thinking twice before leaning against the window.
