Aaron Rodgers was the New York Jets‘ highly-touted offseason acquisition, but he was on the field for only four snaps.
On the team’s first drive, Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles which forced him to miss the entire season.
Despite that, the Jets honored the star quarterback with a team award.
On Friday, ahead of the team’s season finale, Jets head coach Robert Saleh announced that Rodgers was named the team’s “Most Inspirational Player” for the 2023-24 season.

“I’ve said it a million times,” Saleh said, “he loves his teammates and his teammates love him. He’s a tremendous human and well-deserving of the award.”
While Rodgers did miss the entire season, he was always present on the sidelines and provided mentorship to the team’s other quarterbacks. He also worked relentlessly to return from his injury and was briefly cleared to return to practice.
However, with the Jets out of playoff contention, the decision was made to put him back on injured reserve.
As for other team honors, linebacker Quincy WIlliams was named the team MVP and running back Breece Hall was named the Most Courageous Player.
