Denver Nuggets star Aaron Gordon will be away from the team while he recovers from injuries suffered on Christmas.

The Nuggets announced that Gordon will miss time after being attacked by a dog. Gordon was reportedly bitten and suffered cuts to his face and hand.

“Aaron Gordon suffered lacerations to his face and hand resulting from a dog bite on December 25th. Aaron is in good condition and will remain away from the team while he recovers,” the team said in a statement. “Additional updates will be provided as necessary.”

The injuries required 21 stitches.

There is no timetable for his return.

Before the incident, Gordon took the floor for the Nuggets in the team’s win over the Golden State Warriors. Gordon recorded 16 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists.
