A high school soccer coach found himself in hot water after a trip to the gentlemen’s club.
J.D. Bales, a former assistant soccer coach at Bridgeport High School and a middle school special education teacher, was arrested for allegedly blowing $5,000 during a trip to the strip club. The problem? He ran up the bill on the school district credit card.
Bales was arrested on a felony charge of theft of property, according to the Wise County Messanger.
The trip to the strip club took place while Bales was attending a coaching clinic. He had initially claimed that it was a fraudulent charge before the school found evidence that showed otherwise.

“[Bales] resigned from both his coaching position and his role as a [special education] teacher at Bridgeport Middle School [Sept. 8],” the district said in a statement. “Superintendent Dr. Amy Ellis confirmed that the decision to accept the resignation is in the best interest of Bridgeport ISD and the athletic program.”
This isn’t the first time that Bales’ leadership was in question.
Earlier this year, six of his players were arrested over hazing allegations where they allegedly made other players strip naked and filmed them.
Bales was released from custody after posting $10,000 bond.
