After the underperforming Los Angeles Chargers fired head coach Brandon Staley, there was immediate speculation about who the replacement could be.
And with a star quarterback like Justin Herbert at their disposal, it’s an intriguing opportunity. Plenty of coaches understand that, so it’s no surprise that there is a star-studded list of potential candidates.
With a new week of NFL action underway, the odds to take over the Chargers have been updated and Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh is the new favorite to land the job. It’s not shocking that Harbaugh could be looking to leave Michigan for another NFL opportunity — which has been a storyline for years — especially after the NCAA announced new recruiting violations.
Harbaugh’s odds moved from 9-to-1 to 2-to-1, inching ahead of Bill Belichick, who sits at 3-to-1.
Other top candidates include Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, Chargers current offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, and Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator Frank Smith.
Who else could be in the mix?
