Being known as a little brother in sports is a challenging stigma to break. Especially when you do little brother things. For example, bringing strippers on campus during a national title run that caused the championship to be forgotten in the annals of NCAA history is not a good look.
Winning four games in an entire season is also a tough look.
However, today, the Louisville Cardinals have the chance to release every demon that has made them a basement dweller of college basketball in recent years. Too bad they won’t.

It also doesn’t help you when your big brother is the coolest kid on the block.
The University of Kentucky basketball program is the mecca, the alpha and omega of college basketball. The Wildcats lead the all-time series 38-17 and have only dropped two to the Cardinals in the last decade. Today, the Cats are heavy favorites (-13.5) as they travel to Louisville to greet a little brother who is less than thrilled by the visit.
With so many rumors spreading about what Louisville will do about its struggling program, the holiday visit from big brother is going to be just another reminder of how things to need to change.

But not all is lost. Louisville should be proud to know that their arena will finally be at full capacity on Thursday evening. Yes, the ‘KFC YUM! Center’ will look more like an arena where fans enjoy basketball instead of an average night of watching the Flint Tropics.
Dancing on the grave of a rival is fun. I often hear that the rivalry isn’t as much fun with the recent troubles in Louisville. However, this is when it’s been the most fun.
Continue to stink, Cards. Big brother is coming to give you a wedgie in front of your wife and children. Cats by 90!
