Bronny James is one step closer to making his USC basketball debut.

On Thursday, a James family spokesperson announced that LeBron James’ oldest son has been cleared to return after suffering cardiac arrest back in July.

“Bronny James is now cleared by his doctors for a full return to basketball. Bronny will have a final evaluation with USC staff this week, resume practice next week, and return to games soon after,” the statement read.

“The James family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible medical team, the entire USC community, and especially the countless friends, family, and fans for their love and support. Fight On!”

James collapsed on the court during a workout at USC in July which delayed the start to his freshman campaign.

According to the James family at the time, the cardiac arrest was caused by a congenital heart defect that is a treatable condition that would not keep him from continuing his basketball career.

USC currently sits at 5-2 on the season. Up next is a home game against the No. 11 Gonzaga Bulldogs on Saturday, December 2.
