Georgia LB CJ Allen Wins Freshman Of The Week Award For Week 11

The back-to-back defending national champion Georgia Bulldogs recorded a blowout victory over SEC foe Ole Miss, and freshman linebacker CJ Allen played a big part in the team’s ability to stifle the offense of the No. 9 Rebels.

In his first career start, Allen recorded 9 total tackles, 4 solo and 5 assisted, and 1 sack for -7 yards to help clinch the SEC Eastern Division for a third consecutive season.

The Georgia standout’s nine total tackles led the Bulldogs defense in the 52-17 victory at Sanford Stadium in Athens.

As a result, Allen was named the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Week.

Georgia linebacker CJ Allen has been named the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Week after a victory over No. 9 Ole Miss. In the 52-17 victory, the freshman collected 9 tackles, 4 solo and 5 assisted, and 1 sack for -7 yards. He led the Bulldogs defense in tackles, and helped clinch the SEC Eastern Division for the third year in a row. Georgia has extended their regular season win streak to 37, and are now 43-1 in their last 44 games. The Bulldogs will travel to take on No. 13 Tennessee next week.

The Bulldogs will return to action this coming weekend with a trip to Knoxville to take on the No. 21 Tennessee Volunteers at Neyland Stadium.

Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, November 18 on CBS.
