Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Zay Jones was arrested on Monday evening, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Jones was arrested on a charge of domestic battery causing bodily harm and booked into the Duval County Jail. The domestic battery charge is a first-degree misdemeanor.
This season, Jones, who has missed six games including the last four, has recorded five catches for 55 yards and a touchdown.
The Jaguars issued a statement on Monday night saying they are aware of the situation.
“We are aware of the situation and are in the midst of gathering information. We will have no further comment at this time,” a Jaguars spokesperson said, via ESPN.com.
Jones is set for his first court appearance on Tuesday morning.
The Jaguars, who are in first place in the AFC South, return to action in Week 11 at home against the division-rival Tennessee Titans at EverBank Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. ET on CBS.
