Alabama football coach Nick Saban had a very visible issue with his eye during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show this week ahead of the No. 8 Crimson Tide’s game against the No. 13 LSU Tigers at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday.
Saban’s eye looked like he got socked in the face, so naturally, McAfee had to address it.
McAfee joked with Saban and asked if the damage was done from squatting too much, but it was actually a good verbal lashing to his players that did the trick.
Here was Saban’s initial response on The Pat McAfee Show.

On Thursday night, however, Saban said on his weekly radio show, Hey Coach & The Nick Saban Show, that he burst some blood vessels in his eye from “yelling too much” at his players.
“[The doctor] comes to see me after practice today,” Saban said, via TMZ Sports. “And, he looks at me and he said, ‘You been coughing?’ And I said, ‘No.’ And he said, ‘You know, you can get this from yelling.’
“He said, ‘You got it from yelling. There’s nothing wrong with you. You just got it from yelling. You busted a blood vessel in your eye from yelling too much.'”
Let’s hope for Saban’s sake that he doesn’t have to do much yelling in Tuscaloosa for this weekend’s top 15 SEC clash.
