UFC star Derrick Lewis found himself behind bars just days ahead of his scheduled UFC Fight Night 231 main event bout against Jailton Almeida at Ginasio Do Ibirapuera in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

According to a report from ABC13 in Houston, Lewis was arrested on October 25 and charged with reckless driving in Houston.

Lewis was allegedly speeding; going 136 miles per hour in a 50 mph zone in a red Lamborghini. Records show Lewis’ driving showed “willful and wanton disregard for the safety of persons and property by driving at a high rate of speed and changing lanes in an unsafe manner.”

It is a misdemeanor charge, punishable by up to 30 days in jail and/or a fine of up to $200.

Lewis was eventually released on a $100 personal recognizance bond and is due back in court on December 27.

Despite his arrest, the fight will go on as scheduled.

The UFC Fight Night 231 prelims kick off at 6:00 p.m. ET on ESPN+. The main card will also air exclusively on ESPN+ beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET.
