Detroit Lions Set To Debut Blue Helmets On Monday Night Football (PHOTOS)

Week 8 of the NFL season will culminate when the Las Vegas Raiders meet the Detroit Lions on Monday Night football. The Raiders will be looking to get back to .500, while the Lions are hoping to get back to their winning ways after an embarrassing loss to the Baltimore Ravens last week.

The atmosphere at Ford Field will be electric, as fans of the Lions finally have a team that is worth cheering for.

Tonight, the Lions will also be bringing out a unique look for their primetime matchup.

The pride of Detroit will be donning a new blue helmet that fans have been clamoring to see in action. Check out the new domes below:

The Lions social team has been hyping up the new helmets all week long. With posts that include Lions linebacker Alex Anzalone with the caption, “This week really blue by.” While quarterback Jared Goff was showing off the blue sombreros in practice with the caption, “Blue off some steam in practice.”

It is safe to say that the city of Detroit is blue, da ba dee da ba di, for the big showdown on Monday night.

The Lions currently sit atop the NFC North standings. A win on Monday night will move Detroit to 6-2 on the year and will plant them in the sole position of second place in the NFC. The Lions haven’t won a playoff game since 1991. A fact that hasn’t been forgotten by the Lions faithful.

However, these are the brand new Lions. This team is finally putting positive production on the field. Let’s hope we don’t wake up Tuesday feeling blue for the Motown boys.

I’ll see myself out.
