5 Reasons To Root For The Texas Rangers In The 2023 World Series

Just as we all predicted, the Texas Rangers will meet the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2023 World Series. Both teams earned their right to play in the Fall Classic after gutsy game-seven performances to win the pennant in their respective leagues.

Now, both sides will be looking to prove that 2023 belongs to them. But just who should you be rooting for if your team is at home this October?

Astros fans, look away, but here are five reasons that you should be rooting for the Rangers to take down the Diamondbacks in the ultimate series.

5. Elite BBQ

As a hillbilly from eastern Kentucky, I know good food when I see it. The majority of us are gifted with diabetes from an early age, and it doesn’t put a stop to our epic food creations.

We were putting mayonnaise in our soup beans long before Will Levis came to town. However, when it comes to BBQ, no one stands above the great state of Texas.

The Carolinas, Memphis, Kansas City, and even St. Louis can claim they make the best BBQ.

But Texas is the elite of the elite and one of the biggest reasons I’m already planning a trip to the state when the Texas Longhorns challenge Kentucky in an SEC showdown.

4. Eliminating The Astros

Yes, a lot of time has passed, and regimes have changed since the Houston Astros became the ultimate cheaters in baseball. However, the hate for the franchise still runs deep for most of the teams that suffered defeats to the 2017 team.

But this season, no one needs to worry about the garbage can bangin’ ‘Stros to hang another banner. That’s because the Texas Rangers sent them packing.

The Rangers have already earned a massive wave of fans seeking a side for the World Series. Beating the Astros could be the exact reason you will be screaming for Texas.

3. Power Rangers & Creed

My millennial brain can’t see or hear the word Rangers without thinking about the Power Rangers. Tommy, Jason, Kimberly, Billy, Trini, and Zack are names that are forever etched in the stone of my nonsensical brain.

Add that the Texas Rangers blast Creed in the locker room and at the stadium, and this team is destined to be any millennial’s dream team.

Can they take us higher? Or will they need a morphin’ time to get past the Diamondbacks?

There’s so much cliche in this paragraph that I need to stop typing.

2. Adolis Garcia

Adolis Garcia has exploded on the postseason stage. Garcia put the team on his back during the ALCS and blasted the Astors back to the couch with dinger after dinger.

The Rangers slugger is batting .327 this postseason with seven home runs. In order for the Rangers to hold the greatest trophy in baseball, the team will need to see Garcia keep up his dominant plate performance.

The Astros were hoping to throw him off his game after an “accidental” hit by a pitch.

However, that just seemed to awaken a hungrier beast.

1. Getting Their First

The Rangers are appearing in their third World Series as a franchise, seeking their first-ever series victory. Everyone remembers their first. Unless you’re a Cincinnati Reds fan born after 1990, like myself.

Moving on, Rangers fans are anxiously waiting for the opportunity to see their team win the Fall Classic for the first time ever.

The atmosphere for Game 1 on Friday night will be an unbelievable moment for all in attendance. Watching a team finally get rid of the proverbial chip on their shoulder would be a great moment for any baseball fan.
