The Western Kentucky football team will be wearing some incredible helmets when the Hilltoppers host undefeated Liberty in Week 9 on Tuesday, October 24.
On Friday, October 20, the team took to social media to show off the alternate lids players will wear for the game which feature unique decals of mascot Big Red. But what makes the helmets so special?
Each position group will have its own Big Red decal.

To make things more special, the Western Kentucky NIL Store run by Campus Ink released special-edition apparel including t-shirts and sweatshirts that feature the position-specific logos.
Western Kentucky sits at 4-3 on the season and is 2-1 in Conference USA play. The Hilltoppers will look to bounce back in Week 9 after a heart-breaking loss to Jacksonville State this past week on a last-second field goal.
Kickoff at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium in Bowling Green is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
