Over-The-Top, Viral Chargers Fan Is Apparently Not A Paid Actress Or AI Robot

On Monday Night Football, the Dallas Cowboys were able to come away with a big win over the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium.

However, it wasn’t the play on the field that captured the attention of social media.

It was an over-the-top, crazed Chargers fan.

The cameras continued panning to a woman in the crowd who was going through all of the emotions during the game. From screaming at the top of her lungs to complete euphoria and ultimately utter heartbreak, some viewers thought the woman’s reactions were suspicious.

Plenty of people thought the woman was a paid actor or an NFL plant to increase engagement and discussion about the game, but apparently, that is not the case.

According to NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero, the woman is actually a diehard Chargers fan and a season ticket holder.

Not an NFL plant.

“Sorry, conspiracy theorists: The Chargers fan who went viral Monday night and her husband are season ticket holders who rent cabana suites every season for multiple games, I’m told,” Pelissero wrote on Twitter. “They’re true diehard fans — not actors — and wanted to get the word out.”

The fan’s name is Merianne Do, and she has Chargers season tickets with her husband, Tuan Pham, according to CBS Sports.

I guess some adults are VERY passionate about their teams and never let the child-like excitement leave them. And hey, good them.

Sports are supposed to be fun, and this woman was clearly enjoying herself throughout the night — until Justin Herbert’s interception in the final minutes that sealed Dallas’ win.

Next up for the Chargers is a Week 7 trip to Arrowhead Stadium where they will take on Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift, and the division rival Chiefs.
