The Texas Rangers are moving on to the ALCS for the first time since 2011. On Tuesday, the club took down the Baltimore Orioles, sweeping the AL East champions.
The MLB Post-Season is one of the more beautiful playoff systems in all of sports. One swing of the bat can change the history of two teams seeking the glory of the ‘Fall Classic.’
However, this season, the Rangers have a secret to their post-season success. That secret is the power of the legendary rock band Creed.

In just another example of the way 2000s rock can bring us all together, Rangers fans have found their 2023 post-season anthem with ‘Higher’ by Creed. A song that is older than many in the Rangers lineup will now be forever etched in the history of the team’s 2023 playoff run.
The lyrical genius Scott Stapp must be good luck for the ball club, as the team outscored the Baltimore Orioles in the ALDS 21-11.

The band themselves are even getting in on the Rangers bandwagon. Before their division series victory, the Rangers spoke to the media about how the music of Creed somehow brought the team closer in the locker room as they marched toward post-season play.
Creed has become an easy target for becoming popular internet memes. Including a Thanksgiving Day performance for the Dallas Cowboys that will stand the test of time.

Now, the Rangers will wait to see who their opponent will be in the American League Championship Series. As the Minnesota Twins and Houston Astros meet for Game 4 in their ALDS matchup on Wednesday.
But for now, the fans and players of the club will be blasting music from a time period that will forever be known as the most incredible music ever to be created.
I do have one request, though: can someone also bring back more Matchbox Twenty during this postseason? Or, how about we as a country finally come together and realize that 2000s rock is the backbone of the nation and should be played at every sporting event until the end of time?
Either decision I can live with.
