The NFL will be wrapping up the fourth week of the season on Monday night when the Seattle Seahawks take on the New York Giants. The Sunday slate of games this week left a lot to be desired for many fanbases, as well as bringing the sport into the imagination of a Pixar classic. Before Monday Night Football puts the final touches of the week, let’s look back on the five biggest headlines from the Sunday slate of games.
5. Da Bears

Sunday’s slate featured two matchups between winless teams. The Denver Broncos and the Chicago Bears have surprised the entire league as the two teams were still looking for their first victory of the season. Unfortunately for the Bears, somebody had to lose this mega-matchup. At one point in the third quarter, the Bears led 28-7. However, the Broncos answered the call of being the best of the worst by rattling off 24 unanswered points to bring home the 31-28 victory. The Bears seem destined to wear the dunce hat for the entire year.

The Cincinnati Bengals were coming into Week 4 riding high after their Monday Night Football victory over the Los Angeles Rams. Leading up to the team’s game against the Titans, it felt that the 1-2 start to the season was once again going to be a typical slow start for a deadly playoff contender. However, after Sunday, the Bengals are starting to realize that it could be more than a less than 100% Joe Burrow that will have them sitting at home this post-season. The NFL isn’t a league where you have time to figure things out. The Bengals desperately need to find the win column next week against the Arizona Cardinals.
3. You Gotta Friend In The Jags

If you are an east coaster, then you were up very early to start your football viewing on Sunday. The Atlanta Falcons and the Jacksonville Jaguars met across the pond in a game that was more entertaining if you watched the ‘Toy Story’ broadcast. The Jaguars cruised to a 23-7 over a Falcons team that started the season 2-0. Now the Falcons have dropped two straight while the Jaguars find the win column after dropping their last two. The game in Andy’s room was an electric experience and one that should absolutely be on the slate for next season.
2. Pretender Or Contender

After giving the Denver Broncos the ‘Ol Yeller’ treatment last week, the Miami Dolphins were facing a real test when they traveled to Buffalo to take on the Bills. A win in Buffalo would have had many ready to crown the Dolphins, the new kids on the block. However, all good stories have a few bumps in the road. This game was one of those bumps in the road for Miami. The Bills never trailed and proved to the world that a new king of the AFC East might have to wait just a little bit longer for their coronation.

It takes a powerful being to cause the NFL to take a backseat on their own broadcast. For the past two weeks, Taylor Swift has done precisely that. Ever since word broke that Swift is romantically linked to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, the Swiftie army has been in full support of their queen as she has attended Kelce’s games. Sunday night, the pop star was in attendance for a thrilling Chiefs 23-20 victory over the New York Jets. The Chiefs are unbeaten with Swift in attendance. Will she be ready to take the trip to Minnesota next week? For Chiefs fans, she could be the good luck charm keeping the team on the winning side.
