Duke quarterback Riley Leonard put on a show in primetime on Monday night while leading the Blue Devils to a dominant 28-7 upset victory over Clemson at Wallace Wade Stadium.

Leonard finished with 175 yards through the air while adding 98 yards and a touchdown with his legs.

But while he excelled in the win, he had one thing on his mind during the post-game interview on the field: a homework assignment. Leonard turned to the camera and delivered a hilarious plea to his professor.

“Professor Taylor, if you’re seeing this, please let me turn in my homework late because it was due tonight. I think at 12,” he said.

It doesn’t get much more Duke than that.

I think Professor Taylor will give Leonard a bit of an extension since he was a little preoccupied with knocking off the No. 9 team in the country.

The win for Duke snapped a 28-game losing streak against top-10 opponents.

Thanks to the win, the Blue Devils have entered the AP Top 25 poll at No. 21 ahead of Week 2. Duke will return to action on Saturday, September 9 against the Lafayette Leopards. Kickoff at Wallace Wade Stadium is set for 6:00 p.m. ET.

Hopefully Leonard doesn’t have any home assignments due.
