A Colorado man tried to make a loyal friend take the fall for a crime.
According to the Springfield Police Department on Facebook, a man was driving 52 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone over the weekend when he was pulled over. While he was pulled over, the man “attempted to switch places with his dog who was in the passenger seat” as the police officer approached his vehicle.
The man exited his vehicle from the passenger’s side and said he was not the one driving.
Eventually, the man attempted to flee the scene, but was apprehended and “showed clear signs of intoxication.” Who would have guessed that a man blaming his dog for driving would be under the influence of a substance?
He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, driving while ability impaired, driving under suspension, speeding 20 to 24 over the speed limit, and resisting arrest.
Now, I know what everyone is wondering, and no.
“The dog does not face any charges and was let go with just a warning,” the Springfield Police Department wrote.
