Kenneth Egano, a Filipino bantamweight boxer, is dead at age 22 after collapsing in the ring following his fight on May 6.
Egano (7-1, 3 KOs) was facing Jason Facularin (4-1) at the Imus Sports Gymnasium in the Phillippines as part of Manny Pacquiao’s TV show Blow by Blow. Egano collapsed before the official scorecards were read.
An oxygen mask was placed on Egano before he was taken out of the ring on a stretcher. He suffered a brain hemorrhage that caused him to fall into a coma, via Boxing Junkie.
Egano, who was on a five-fight winning streak, began his boxing career in 2019.
Manny Pacquiao promised to shoulder the medical needs of boxer Kenneth Egano, who is now in a coma at a hospital in Cavite.
After his win last Saturday, he collapsed.

“Our condolences to Kenneth’s family, relatives, and friends,” the Games and Amusements Board in the Philippines said on Wednesday. “May his soul rest in peace.”
Pacquiao said he would cover the cost of Egano’s medical bills prior to his death.
