Jeff Bezos Could Have Interest In Seahawks After Passing On Commanders

Jeff Bezos passed on the opportunity to bid on the Washington Commanders, but he could have his sights set on another team.

According to a note from the Washington Post, Bezos could have his eyes on buying the Seattle Seahawks when they are eventually put up for sale. The article said that a person with knowledge of the NFL’s inner workings said, “Bezos knows that Seattle is sitting there.”

It’s certainly an interesting note, and something to keep an eye on.

As Pro Football Talk states:

Indeed it is. Jody Allen, the sister of the late Paul Allen, has been selling off his assets, systematically. The Seahawks currently aren’t for sale, quite possibly because if they are sold before May 2024, 10 percent of the proceeds will go to the State of Washington as part of the deal to build the team’s current stadium.

Part of the proceeds going to the state for the stadium would certainly be a benefit, and Bezos — who really seems interested in purchasing an NFL franchise — would be getting a team that is already established with one of the most loyal fanbases in sports.

It would be a win-win for all parties involved, it may just become a matter of when the Seahawks are up for sale and whether another opportunity arises for Bezos first.
