The NBA postseason officially kicks off on Tuesday night with the start of the NBA Play-In Tournament. The action gets underway with an NBA on TNT doubleheader.
In the opening game of the night, the Atlanta Hawks make the trip to South Beach for a showdown with the Miami Heat. The winner of tonight’s game will advance to take on the No. 2 seed Boston Celtics in the next round of the tournament, while the loser will get another shot to continue their season later this week against the winner of Wednesday night’s game between the Chicago Bulls and Toronto Raptors.
Miami finished the regular season with a 44-38 record, while the Hawks enter the postseason at 41-41.
Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
Entering Tuesday night’s game, the Heat are solid 5-point favorites over the visiting Hawks with the over/under set for 226.5 total points.
