The PGA Tour is back this week with the 2023 Players Championship at THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. On Thursday, March 9, Round 1 will be taking place with the action getting underway just before 7:00 a.m. ET.
The tournament field features 43 of the top 50 players in the world, including 8 former champions and six FedEx Cup winners.
Cameron Smith, the defending champion, will not be competing after leaving the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf.
Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy are co-favorites entering the tournament with +850 odds to win it all, followed by Scottie Scheffler (+1000), Patrick Cantlay (+1900), Max Homa (+1900), Justin Thomas (+1900), and Xander Schauffele (+2500).
You can watch Thursday’s first-round action on the Golf Channel from 12:00 p.m. ET to 6:00 p.m. ET or live stream online via PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ and Peacock throughout the day. The ESPN+ stream will run from 6:45 a.m. ET to 6: p.m. ET, while Peacock will stream the action from 12:00 p.m. ET to 6:00 p.m. ET.
