Few players faced more questions about things out of their control leading up to the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis this week than Alabama star Bryce Young.

Young’s height and weight have long been a topic of discussion, with concerns that the Heisman Trophy finalist was too small for the next level.

During his time at Alabama, Young was listed at 6-foot, 194 pounds, and many are waiting for his official measurements in Indy.

But before they were released, Young met with the media and gave an honest response to the questions about his size when asked during his media availability.

While his stature may be small, his confidence is through the roof.

“I’ve been this size, respectfully, for my whole life. I know who I am, I know what I can do,” Young said.

“I think it’s fair, everyone can speculate and ask whatever questions are necessary, but I’m going to continue to control what I can control. I’m going to keep working my hardest to put myself in a good position. And I’m confident in myself. I know what I can do, and I’m just excited to get to the next level.”

During his time at Alabama, Young’s size did not hold him back. He threw for 8,356 yards, 80 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions throughout his college career.

This past season, Young threw for 3,328 yards, 32 touchdowns, and just 5 interceptions.

While his size may stop him from being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Young has proven he can make plays happen and he shouldn’t be waiting long before hearing his name called this spring.

The 2023 NFL Draft is set to take place from Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29. The festivities — which will air on ESPN, ABC, and the NFL Network — will be held in the plaza outside of Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri.
