There could be a big change at the top of the 2023 NFL Draft if the latest NFL Draft rumors are true.

On Monday, February 27, ESPN’s Adam Schefter took to Twitter to report that the Chicago Bears have been contacted by “multiple teams” about trading the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.

While there is plenty of time for a move to be made, Schefter reports the Bears are “leaning toward” moving the pick, and it “now looks like it’s for sale.”

But who could be willing to move to the top of the draft? A number of teams would make sense. When you look at the top of the draft, there are a handful of teams who could benefit from adding a top quarterback prospect and many of them are picking in the top 10. If a team truly believes one of the top prospects at the position is a potential franchise signal-caller, moving up a few spots to secure them would be well worth the draft capital they would have to send to Chicago.

ESPN’s Field Yates pointed out some of the teams that would make sense.

With the Texans, Colts, and Raiders in the AFC, they could be a reasonable trade partner for the Bears, who would avoid having to face the player who goes at No. 1 in conference play for the foreseeable future.

It will be interesting to see if a move is made, but with the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine underway this week in Indianapolis, there will be plenty of time for teams to talk.

The 2023 NFL Draft is set to take place from Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29. The festivities — which will air on ESPN, ABC, and the NFL Network — will be held in the plaza outside of Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri.
