“The NFL is scripted” and “The NFL is rigged” were hot topics in the final stretch of the 2022-23 NFL season.

A lot of fans on social media enjoyed sharing memes and cracking jokes about the theory, but there are some who really took it to heart. And after a look at Twitter data, we now know which fans are the biggest conspiracy theorists in the league.

The folks at BetOnline.ag analyzed geo-tagged keyword association Twitter data over the final month of the regular season, tracking specific tweets, terms, and phrases to see which fan base was discussing the conspiracy theory that the NFL is scripted or rigged the most.

For example, running queries for tweets that were from Cowboys fans, that also included terms like “scripted,” “fake,” “rigged,” etc., and repeating that for each team. Playoffs were not included.

When it was all said and done, the Cowboys fanbase led the way with nearly three percent of their tweets being about the NFL being rigged or scripted, while the Los Angeles Rams and Denver Broncos followed.

The fanbase that complained the least was the New York Jets.
