Since taking his talents to Sierra Canyon High School, Bronny James has watched his stock soar.

The 6-foot-3 combo guard has picked up a number of offers from some of the top programs in the country as a four-star recruit, and he’s ranked as the No. 8 overall player at his position in the 2023 recruiting class.

And now, he’s also turning the heads of pro scouts with some believing he will be an elite NBA prospect.

Jonathan Givony of ESPN.com released his way-too-early 2024 NBA Mock Draft and what jumped off of the page was Bronny James being listed as a top 10 pick. Givony credits Bronny’s jump into the lottery to his development at Sierra Canyon where he has improved in all aspects of his game. Most importantly, James is still growing as a player.

“James has earned his spot in lottery conversations with the significant jump he has made at Sierra Canyon in Chatsworth, California, this season, developing into arguably the best perimeter defender in his high school class while making strides in his perimeter shooting and playmaking ability,” Givony wrote.

“As most of his peers have flatlined the past 12 to 18 months, James has grown, filled out his frame, found another gear with his explosiveness and become an absolute terror off the ball defensively thanks to his outstanding intensity and feel for the game. He still has plenty of room to improve his ballhandling and pull-up jumper to become a more prolific and efficient shot creator, but he has already caught the eyes of NBA decision-makers with the way he contributes to winning and likely will continue to grow and fill out his game.”

Of course, all eyes will be on Bronny when it is time for him to be selected in the draft. After all, LeBron has said he wants to play a season with his son before he retires from the NBA.

Being in the top 10 would mean Bronny likely ends up with a re-building franchise, but the James and James duo could help speed up the rebuilding process and immediately make the team attractive to free agents who want to play with LeBron before he calls it a career.

Regardless of how it all plays out, it’s great to see Bronny continuing to put in the work to improve his game and it will be fun to see just how far he can take his talents.
