Tua Tagovailoa was a topic of discussion throughout the 2022-23 NFL season after suffering multiple head injuries throughout the season — including a devastating concussion where he was knocked out cold and had to be stretchered off of the field.

That led to some questioning whether the Miami Dolphins quarterback should call it a career early instead of risking further injury and long-term damage, but that doesn’t appear to be in his plans.

During an interview at the Polynesian Bowl, Tagovailoa’s parents, Galu and Diane, discussed the 24-year-old’s future and said their son will not be retiring early.

“He comes back,” Galu said. “That’s their guy. They love him, we love them and what they’re doing and how they’re helping him with his recovery and everything else trying to get him back.”

While some have urged the Dolphins signal-caller to hang it up, Tagovailoa and his family remain confident in the Miami organization. We’ll have to see if the Dolphins continue to have the same confidence in him.
