Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher caught the yips during the postseason and went on an embarrassing run of missing extra points.
During Sunday’s Divisional Round clash with the San Francisco 49ers, all eyes were on Maher as he lined up for his first extra point of the game after missing four the week prior. Unfortunately for Maher, the kick was blocked and he missed yet again. Even if the kick wasn’t deflected, the replay showed it was well on its way to going wide left.
Maher was a punching bag for jokes on Twitter, but none were as ruthless as the shot taken by Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
Gov. Abbott took to social media after the miss to ruthlessly troll the kicker with a simple one-liner.
I swear, I can kick as good as the Dallas Cowboys kicker.

For those who don’t know, Gov. Abbott was paralyzed from the waist down after an oak tree fell on him while he was on a jog in 1984 when he was 26 years old and had recently graduated from law school. He is now bound to a wheelchair.
As for Maher, he did make two field goals in the game — a 19-12 loss to the 49ers — but his extra point struggles are going to loom large when it comes to his future with the team.
