Deion Sanders has generated interest from multiple Power Five programs following his success at the FCS level with Jackson State, but a dark horse has emerged as a possibility for Coach Prime.

According to a report from Bruce Feldman during an appearance on Big Noon Kickoff, the Jackson State head coach has been offered the Colorado Buffaloes head coaching gig.

And while Deion taking the Colorado job seems like it could be a stretch, Feldman reports the Hall of Famer has “legit interest” in taking over the program in Boulder.

“Now (onto) Colorado, where they’re desperate to pump some life into this program, CU has offered Deion Sanders, from Jackson State, the job,” Feldman said, via 247 Sports. “And I’m told he has legit interest in becoming the Buffs new head coach. He is 22-2 in the last two years, but he really hasn’t gotten much buy in from Power Five jobs with vacancies.

“I’m told if he can go there, and there’s people that see you are optimistic you would make this program nationally relevant for the first time in a long long time.”

Last season, Sanders led Jackson State to the SWAC title and was named the SWAC Coach of the Year, and named the winner of the Eddie Robinson Award. This season, Sanders has his Tigers at 11-0 on the season.

Sanders has said he does not plan on leaving Jackson State, but at the end of the day, money talks, and having the opportunity to rebuild a Power Five program could be too good of an offer for Coach Prime to pass up.
