Lee Corso was absent from ESPN College GameDay on Saturday morning, marking the third time this season that the host has been forced to miss due to undisclosed health issues.

At the start of the show, co-host Kirk Herbstreit addressed Corso’s absence and provided a quick health update. According to Herbstreit, Corso is in good spirits and will undergo more tests while possibly having a procedure in a couple of days but he hopes to return to the show next week.

“Real quick on Lee Corso, talked to him yesterday, just to make sure he’s feeling OK,” Herbstreit said at the top of the show, via TigerNet.com. “He’s going to have some more tests and a procedure maybe done in a couple days, but he’s very, very optimistic about being back on the show next week. So, coach, if you’re watching, man, we love you. We’ll see you soon.”

Prior to this week’s pre-game show in Jackson, Mississippi, Rece Davis gave an update on Corso saying that he would not be with the rest of the crew on Saturday morning.

Corso missed two weeks earlier in the season with a health scare before returning on October 15 in Tennessee.

We wish Corso a full and speedy recovery.
