Week 8 of the 2022 college football season is in the books, so the weekly honors are beginning to roll out. For Rutgers Scarlet Knights punter Adam Korsak, that meant adding a piece of hardware to his trophy case for a strong performance in last weekend’s game against Indiana.
This week, the Augusta Sports Council and Ray Guy Award announced Korsak has been named the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week for the Week 8 games.
Korsak punted 8 times during the game against Indiana for a total of 372 yards. His gross average was 46.5 and his net average was 44.63 yards due to him having only 1 punt returned for -5 yards. Four of his punts ended up inside Indiana’s 20-yard line and he had a long punt of 66 yards.
Rutgers hits the road this weekend for a trip to TCF Bank Stadium to take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. ET.
NOTE: Players awarded the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week are not guaranteed as semifinalists for the award.
